Heidi Barr, a 16-year-old Jewish girl in Iowa, was riding her horse bareback when an out-of-control Arabian horse collided with hers, causing her horse to rear up and flip backward off a ridge trail, crushing her underneath. As the 1000-pound horse rolled across her chest, she knew instantly she was dead. Her spirit left her body and floated 30-40 feet above the scene, where she could see her horse rolling over her body, her sisters' horrified reactions in the car below, and even into the barn facing away from her.
A brilliant light appeared beside her, emanating from a man she immediately recognized as Jesus, despite being raised in an Orthodox Jewish household where her atheist father taught that Jesus was "the biggest hoax ever perpetrated on humanity." They communicated heart-to-heart and mind-to-mind, with Jesus taking her hand and flying together on waves of multicolored light. After crossing a threshold, she found herself sitting on God the Father's lap with her face buried in His chest, feeling completely loved and at home. God pulled back a corner of Himself to reveal Heaven - brilliant green grass where every blade sang praises, flowers with visible details down to each grain of pollen, and trees with every leaf moving without wind in worship. She observed paradise with extraordinary clarity, seeing people approaching on a misty pathway through clouds. Jesus returned and told her twice "You did not die. You must go back." Despite her protests, He pulled her from God's lap and "hoovered" her back into her body, where He smoothed her spirit into her physical form, saying "Your life is in good hands" before departing. Upon return, she couldn't initially remember how to open her eyes or speak. She suffered a fractured pelvis, broken back, crushed chest, and paralysis from the waist down. Her parents left her at home for 24 hours before she crawled to get medical help. Miraculously, she made a full recovery without surgery, her vertebrae fusing themselves. The experience transformed her life - she stopped using drugs, graduated early, traveled to Israel to walk where Jesus walked, and eventually became a hospice nurse, helping others transition to the afterlife she had glimpsed.
