Barbara J., a Christian believer, experienced an NDE where she suddenly found herself standing before a golden city. She emphasizes her Christian faith and belief in Jesus Christ, stating she now knows He is real because, as the Bible states, heaven's streets are pure gold that you can see through - and she confirms you can indeed see through them, though she cannot adequately describe the beauty in words.
She found herself waiting in line behind many people, and then it was her turn. She stood in front of a very large being whom she thought was an angel, holding a big book that she believes was the Lamb's Book of Life. She explains that if you let Jesus come into your life by asking Him, your name will be in The Lamb's Book of Life, and nothing and nobody can take it out. When the angel asked for her name and she told him, he looked for it in the book and said, "I'm sorry, but it is not your time." The specific observations included the golden transparent streets exactly as described in Revelation, waiting in line with many others suggesting an orderly entry process, the large angelic being as gatekeeper, and the Book of Life being consulted for entry permission. Her theological understanding of the Book of Life and salvation through Jesus was confirmed through the experience. She was sent back after being told it wasn't her time, a common element in NDEs where entry to heaven is conditional on divine timing rather than human choice.
