Señora Cristal, a Mexican psychic and meditation teacher now living in Texas, experienced her first NDE shortly after surgery when she lost a significant amount of blood. She felt weak and sensed something suctioning her through a dark spiral tunnel, experiencing a dizzy sensation. She emerged to see a bright, beautiful light that changed into something foggy, revealing a beautiful forest with very green, moist grass.
She walked barefoot toward spirits or souls she recognized as relatives waiting for her, though they had no physical bodies - she simply knew who they were intuitively. As she approached these presences, something pulled her back, preventing her from reaching them. She described it as being in the "Lobby of Heaven," able to see people waiting in what she called the Main Room but unable to advance to reach them. The experience included specific perceptions of the environment - the moisture on the grass, the forest setting, and the foggy transition from the bright light. She recognized deceased relatives despite them having no physical form, demonstrating a knowledge-based veridical perception. She was prevented from fully crossing over and returned to her body, understanding that she had been at the threshold between life and death but was not permitted to continue forward.
