Dr. Yvonne Kason, a young physician, was aboard a Medevac plane in Northern Canada in 1979 when it crashed in a winter blizzard. Both engines failed during the storm. As the plane descended, she felt intense fear and panic, crying out God help I'm going to die. Her NDE began before impact when a force field of peace descended upon her, leaving her calm and unafraid. She heard an inner voice saying Be still and know that I am God. I am with you now and always. The feeling of peace and divine presence intensified. She comforted the patient beside her, somehow knowing everything would be okay whether they lived or died. The pilot crash-landed on a semi-frozen lake, avoiding deadly trees. The plane skidded across ice until it broke through and began sinking. In the freezing water wearing heavy winter clothes, she heard the voice command Swim to shore three times. She initially resisted, knowing the 200-yard distance in winter conditions seemed impossible. After the third command, she surrendered and began swimming. The successful 200-yard swim in heavy winter clothing through fast current during a storm was considered miraculous. This was one of five NDEs Dr. Kason has experienced (two as a child, three as an adult).
