Cindy M almost drowned in 1992. She looked into the water and could see her body, recognizing it was herself. She thought she couldn't have drowned because she was still aware and present. She looked toward the light and saw an angel who told her it was time to go back. She didn't want to return but felt like she dropped down into her body. She thought the image of her body was close to the surface, but she had to swim up a long way to reach the top of the water. The experience was brief but included the classic elements of seeing her own body from outside, encountering a divine light, and meeting an angelic being who directed her return. The angel's message was clear and direct - her time had not come and she needed to return to her physical body. Despite her reluctance to leave the peaceful state, she was sent back and re-entered her body, having to swim to the surface.
