Linda was rushed to hospital with severe internal bleeding from ectopic pregnancy. A strong atheist raised Buddhist who became atheist at 13, she was screaming in pain in the ER. Angered by an intern's reaction, she decided to "leave" mentally as she had done in childhood during trauma. She heard "We are losing her" and the heart monitor flatline.
She floated over the table feeling smug, then felt a frightening pull downward to another dimension. She found herself in a chamber of hell with horrible smells, darkness, people in chains being tortured. A familiar voice explained this place was no longer for people like her - before His birth everyone came here, but since His death, people wait elsewhere. The voice asked "Do you love him?" then pulled her upward. She saw distant people she knew and didn't know, then pearl gates opening to reveal streets of gold and mansions covered with diamonds and green stones. When asked "What do you believe?" she woke taking a deep breath, telling the nurse "there is a God and He loves you!"
