Richard Sigmund, known as "Little Richard" as a boy preacher who had preached in meetings with Oral Roberts, Kathryn Kuhlman, and other prominent evangelists, experienced an extraordinary death and resurrection on October 17, 1974. Following a devastating car accident, he was pronounced dead and remained deceased for eight hours before God brought him back to life. During this extended time in death, he experienced heaven in remarkable detail before returning with bones knitting together and scars healing as he sat up.
A force drew him up through a glory cloud, and on the other side he could hear people singing. He saw two beautiful women of great age whose countenance appeared as if in their mid-twenties. He witnessed people waiting for loved ones to arrive in heaven, and as they passed through a veil, they immediately became young and beautiful. The environment included beautiful flowers, perfect grass, and enormous trees. Not even one blade of grass would die in heaven. The sky was rosette pinkish in color yet crystal-clear blue, with clouds that were actually thousands of angels. He saw the Lamb's Book of Life and a wall filled with precious jewels. The gates were huge - twenty-five miles high - and along the pathway were many beautiful mansions. People would casually stroll off their verandas and float easily to the ground. He glimpsed Jesus talking with people, loving and hugging them. A little girl who had died of cancer approached him with beautiful blonde hair she had lost during her illness, deliberately messing it up to show her joy in having it restored. Many children displayed abilities far greater than any adult on earth. When they wheeled him to the morgue after eight hours, he could feel his bones knitting together and scars healing while sitting up. A doctor who had pronounced him dead came in insisting he was dead even while he was sitting up talking. Multiple doctors and nurses witnessed him telling the story of where he had been. God also showed him hell with horrific sights.
