Dr. Gary L. Wood was instantly killed in a catastrophic car accident. There was an explosion followed by sharp, instant pain across his face, then a brilliant light engulfed him and he was free from all pain. He slipped out of his body and could see it below in the car as he ascended through a tunnel of light, feeling tranquil peace. Angels were singing all around him. He found himself walking on green, lush grass covering a hillside, viewing the outer portion of a magnificent city.
The city was surrounded by a wonderful wall made of jasper, with a beautiful gate made of solid pearl studded with sapphires, rubies, diamonds, and many other precious gems. Inside a large building that looked like a library with walls of solid gold, his deceased best friend John showed him hundreds of volumes of books containing records of every person's life throughout history - everything done on earth, good or bad, is recorded in these books. He could see the prayers of saints shooting up like arrows toward heaven, with angels receiving them and bringing them into God's throne room, where God would grant requests and dispatch angels to deliver miracles. He stood before Jesus, whose beauty was incomparable to anything he had ever seen. His injuries included broken vertebrae, one of which causes certain death, and mid-face lorinzal injuries meaning his vocal cords and voice box were completely shattered with no hope of ever talking again. Yet he has X-rays showing no vocal cords, but he can talk and sing. When he prayed for healing and dedicated his life to telling the world about God, Jesus appeared in his room and touched his throat. He felt warmth flowing through his body. When the nurse came in and he spoke, she was startled, saying "You can't talk!" Within moments, doctors surrounded him saying he shouldn't be able to speak because he has no vocal cords. He preaches and sings to this day as a living miracle.
