Mickey Robinson, an expert parachutist and thrill-seeker who spent his life jumping from planes and pursuing dangerous adventures, survived a catastrophic plane crash that left him with third-degree burns over three-quarters of his body. The doctors were certain he would not survive, and he faded in and out of consciousness near death. During this critical time, he stepped out of his broken body and had a profound spiritual experience.
He began traveling toward a pure white light, brighter than a thousand suns, his whole being yearning for this brilliance. However, as he moved toward the light, he became aware of something eerie and black hovering behind him. This darkness was more terrifying than evil itself - a total emptiness waiting to penetrate and swallow all that made him alive. He was completely helpless and incapable of saving himself. The experience was more agonizing than being burned alive, knowing that if the darkness swallowed him, he would be imprisoned in an empty world with no windows or doors, crying for help but never being heard in an aloneness that would be final and forever. As the last eclipse of light was disappearing and he faced being consumed by darkness, his spirit screamed out "God, I'm sorry! I want to live! Please give me another chance!" Immediately upon saying these words, he found himself standing in heaven, enfolded by a living, breathing glory. Though he could not see any form, he knew it was a Person of magnificent power, wisdom, splendor, and love. This pure being clothed in perfect light drenched him with love like a flood. He was shown aspects of heaven but did not want to return. God sent him back, and despite numerous operations and the doctors' pessimism, he recovered. He became a Christian and has served God ever since, now having an international speaking ministry.
