Greg, in his mid-thirties, was hospitalized for what he thought was simple indigestion on Labor Day weekend. After two days with normal tests, he was ready for discharge when the crash cart was called to his room at 1:30 PM. Despite feeling fine and checking his monitor leads, the medical team surrounded his bed and pushed him down. He protested that they had the wrong person while the head nurse said "There he goes!" They slid a board under his back and shocked him with electricity that "straightened me out like a pencil."
After three shocks while conscious and protesting, Greg suddenly found himself out of his body at the corner ceiling of the hospital room, looking down as a computer analyst trying to figure out how he could be in two places simultaneously. He couldn't see who was in the bed due to the doctors and nurses blocking the view. When one doctor moved to get something from the cart, Greg saw it was himself but felt completely cool and no alarm. He then found himself in a tunnel of light, his analytical mind drinking in the sights. He saw white images moving in diffused white light that he thought were angels, joking with himself that "at least I came to the right place." Despite knowing the seriousness, he was able to think rationally and make decisions, calling on the Lord Jesus Christ. He prayed to return to help his wife raise their three boys, feeling like he was standing naked before the Trinity pleading his case. Greg experienced multiple medical crises over 26 years following his NDE, documented in a four-page medical history with 50 entries including seven catheterizations, three bypass surgeries, and two angioplasties. He credited his faith, strengthened by the NDE, for sustaining him through these ordeals.
