Brad, blind from birth due to undeveloped eye tissue, was eight years old attending the Boston Center for Blind Children when he contracted severe pneumonia in February 1968. After struggling to breathe for days, one night he became rigid and stopped breathing. His heart stopped for four minutes. During this time, he floated up from his bed and saw his lifeless body below, witnessed his blind roommate leave to get help, and penetrated through the ceiling to observe the snowy streets outside with remarkable detail - noting snow banks, a passing trolley, and the school playground. He was then pulled through a dark tunnel at a 45-degree angle, hearing an electric transformer hum, before entering an immense field with huge palm trees and tall grass. He experienced brilliant light that penetrated everything, heard sublime music in unknown languages, and approached a glittering stone structure. A large firm arm stopped him at the narrowest part of a tubular passage, telepathically communicating he needed to return to earth as he was not ready for this plane. He was rapidly catapulted back through the tunnel and awoke gasping for air with medical staff performing CPR.
