Eight-year-old Bill McDonald was hospitalized with severe complications from mumps, including lung infection and kidney issues. From a poor family, he received delayed medical care and was rushed to San Jose County Hospital in critical condition. Doctors drained fluid from his lungs with large needles, then isolated him in a dark room, not expecting him to survive. He spent an entire year hospitalized with only 10-minute Sunday visits from family.
That first night, Bill's pain suddenly vanished as his consciousness separated from his body. He saw his crumpled body below, not breathing, while experiencing brilliant light and the sensation of being embraced by "a million grandmothers" with profound love, peace, and bliss. Unlike adult NDEs with life reviews, Bill was shown his entire future on a panoramic screen. He saw his future wife at 14 (whom he did marry and remains married to), President Kennedy's assassination (which he predicted a week before it happened), himself in Vietnam on Huey helicopters, his future children, homes, and work including becoming a scuba instructor. The prophetic visions proved remarkably accurate. In high school, he warned teachers and students that the president would be killed in Dallas, Texas - which happened the following week. His version included multiple shooters, contradicting the official account. In Vietnam, he sat behind machine guns on helicopters exactly as shown, warning others about doomed flights (leading to CIA investigation). He knew everything that would happen, including a future NDE in India at age 58 at Babaji's cave, which had fascinated him since hearing about it from Yogananda's writings. During his year-long recovery, Bill developed meditation and energy healing techniques, visualizing light entering his crown chakra. Despite medical predictions of death, he recovered completely. He discovered his healing abilities when the family dog was hit by a car and he revived it through energy transfer. Bill kept his experience secret for 50 years until discovering others had similar experiences, then dedicated his life to teaching about love's healing power worldwide.
