Helen was in a severe multi-vehicle car accident at an intersection. She had broken both ankles and had to be extricated from her car through a long process. First responders documented she was unconscious at the scene the entire time, and hospital records showed she didn't awaken until several hours after the crash. Despite being unconscious and trapped, Helen recalled getting out of her car and surveying the damage. She accurately knew there were four vehicles involved, including a gray floral-delivery van with blue writing on red roses decals. She described walking to a dark-green sedan that had hit her after running a stop sign, seeing the bearded driver slumped over the wheel. She correctly identified that the van had rear-ended her, wedging her car between vehicles. She witnessed the driver of a white SUV making the 911 call and comforting the injured driver. All these details were confirmed accurate despite her being unconscious and physically trapped in her car with broken ankles. When she walked back to her car, she saw herself trapped in the driver's seat and realized she must be dead. Medical staff later confirmed she was heavily sedated during treatment, experiencing what she perceived as drowning when intubated.
