Six-year-old Daniel was struck by a car while riding his bicycle, receiving severe head trauma that left him comatose for two weeks. He remembers taking his bicycle from the garage and riding down the driveway, with his most vivid memory being what happened after impact. He found himself standing outside his body, watching doctors load him into the ambulance while his mother cried and everyone rushed frantically.
At the hospital, he observed doctors inserting tubes into his body, noting he looked "yucky" because he was bloody and bruised. He then traveled down a dark tunnel toward a bright light at the end. He felt neither sad nor happy but was strongly drawn to reach the light. The faster he moved through the tunnel, the better he felt. Upon reaching the light, Daniel met three men - one very tall and two shorter ones. Behind them stretched a rainbow bridge across the sky. Despite the men seeming nice, he felt afraid of them. Suddenly he was back in his body, looking down at his feet where the men briefly appeared before disappearing completely. The experience made Daniel believe other worlds exist but was somewhat frightening because he thought the men intended to take him away from his parents. He understood they seemed kind but didn't want to leave his family. The experience left him with lasting beliefs about reality beyond the physical world.
