Beverly was a severely abused seven-year-old who attempted suicide by sledding headfirst into a cement bench. Upon impact, she immediately left her body and floated above, watching children examine her injuries but not seek help. She rose to rooftop level and observed architectural details she had never seen before.
She then faded into a deep silver-blue surrounding where an umbrella-like structure without a stick folded around her, making everything dark. Suddenly, she found herself in an intensely bright light that filled her with unprecedented warmth and love. A voice from the Light told her she had made a mistake - her life was not hers to take and she must return. When she protested that no one cared about her, the voice responded that she was right, but it was her job to care for herself. After returning to her severely injured body with a broken neck and facial trauma, she considered attempting suicide again. This thought triggered another experience where the umbrella of love showed her a vision of a tree in winter that would bloom in summer, teaching her that her current suffering was temporary like winter. The experience immediately transformed her from a victim to a self-advocate. She learned to speak up for her rights and eventually created the loving family she never had as a child, wearing an umbrella charm to remember that when you hurt yourself, everything is hurt.
