A nine-year-old child was at a rocky beach with their sister who was babysitting. While collecting shells and not paying attention to surroundings, the child was suddenly hit by a large wave and washed between rocks into deep water. The child swallowed large amounts of water that filled their lungs, experiencing terror before dropping to the murky bottom of a pool. Unable to breathe, surrounded by bubbles, the child then saw light going through a tunnel and entered the most beautiful garden ever seen. During this experience, the child's short life passed before them in review. They then appeared before a large figure described as a light believed to be God. The beauty of the experience made the child not want to leave, but the figure communicated that the child had to go back. The next memory was someone pulling their head up after being carried to a bathhouse. A lifeguard had pumped substantial water from the child's lungs and expressed that the child should have been dead. The child was considered very lucky to have survived, especially without being struck by traffic during the incident.
