James was a physician who was legally blind even with glasses. During a cardiac catheterization procedure, an error led to a heart attack, congestive heart failure, and the loss of his heartbeat and blood pressure for approximately four minutes. This represents a documented cardiac arrest with precise timing. Remarkably, despite being legally blind, James reported he could see clearly without glasses during his NDE, with no restrictions on distant or near vision.
During his experience, James reached an area of darkness with a faint light in the distance and felt compelled to travel toward it. As he neared the light, he became aware of other spirits around him that he couldn't see but could sense. A mixture of clouds, fog, smoke, and mist connected with the spirits and light. He saw hazy outlines of indistinct figures and knew them, communicating instantaneously through thought transmission rather than words. He met his deceased sister and mother who had died years earlier. While happy to be with them, he kept being drawn to the most brilliant golden white light that permeated everything. As he approached, he felt an overwhelming power and presence he recognized as God. He asked questions and received immediate answers. He was filled with love, joy, happiness and surrounded by unconditional love, forgiveness, and acceptance. When he wanted to continue through the light, he received a clear message: "No, go back. It isn't your time," accompanied by visions of his wife and children. Despite not wanting to return, he had no choice and awoke with a doctor shaking him. James emphasized that the light and presence were clearly God, present everywhere and part of everything, with no limits to God's power. His experience as a blind person seeing clearly adds significant evidential weight.
