Florene was approximately eight months pregnant when she suffered from a complication causing rapid blood loss. The hemorrhaging was severe enough to be immediately life-threatening to both her and her unborn child. She was rushed to medical care during this obstetric emergency.
During her NDE, she suddenly found herself in the most beautiful place she had ever seen, looking at a beautiful stream of flowing blue water coming down from a small cliff. When the water hit the ground, it made a crystalline ping sound like fine crystal. The colors were breathtaking beyond any artist's ability to recreate. The stream appeared bottomlessly deep, and despite her fear of water, she knew she would be safe if she crossed. She was about to cross when she was engulfed by a warm, bright light that felt like arms around her. The Light told her she couldn't stay as she had much work left to do and had to go back. Florene, described as stubborn, argued with the Light, even stomping her foot (though noting she was floating without actual feet) and declaring she was not going back. God responded with a beautiful sense of humor, chuckling at her protest and saying with gentle authority, "Oh, yes you will." This playful yet firm interaction showed both God's personality and ultimate sovereignty. The experience demonstrated God's warmth, humor, and loving authority while giving Florene a glimpse of the heavenly realm's indescribable beauty. Despite her strong desire to remain in that peaceful place, she was returned to complete her earthly purpose, particularly her role as a mother to her unborn child.
