Jack, suffering from severe bronchial asthma and emphysema, experienced a ruptured disk while coughing and was hospitalized in traction for back surgery. Due to his respiratory conditions, extensive preparation was required before anesthesia could be administered. On a Tuesday morning, while resting in his hospital bed, a remarkable spiritual experience occurred that would accurately predict future events.
A ball of light, approximately twelve to fifteen inches in diameter, appeared in the corner of his room below the ceiling. With the light came complete peace and relaxation. A hand reached down from the light, and a voice said "Come with me. I want to show you something." Jack reached up and immediately felt himself leaving his body, taking on the same luminous form as the light - circular with colors including orange, yellow, and indigo, resembling illuminated cigarette smoke. Together they traveled through walls and floors to the recovery room, where the being showed him a specific bed and told him: "That's where you're going to be. When they bring you off the operating table they're going to put you in that bed, but you will never awaken from that position." The being indicated it would return for him after the surgery. After being shown his predicted death location, Jack was returned to his body. Thursday afternoon, overcome with concern for his family, he began writing farewell letters. The presence returned and asked why he was crying, to which Jack expressed concern about his wife raising their troubled nephew alone. The being then said: "Since you are asking for someone else, and thinking of others, not Jack, I will grant what you want. You will live until you see your nephew become a man." Friday's surgery proceeded without complications, and when Jack awoke, he correctly identified his exact bed location to Dr. Coleman: "I'm in that first bed on the right just as you come in from the hall." Dr. Coleman was amazed that Jack needed none of the life support equipment prepared for him. Dr. Wyatt commented, "Miracles still happen, you know." Jack survived the surgery that had been predicted to kill him, living on as promised to help raise his nephew. The experience provided him with absolute certainty about life after death.
