Claire from County Kerry experienced a heart attack in May 2012 after returning from Brazil where her husband had suffered a severe accident. The stress of caring for him during his recovery, including dealing with thrombosis complications and a 30-hour journey home, left her exhausted. Less than a week after returning to Ireland, she collapsed at home with severe chest pressure, pain in her left arm and neck, and was rushed to hospital with high blood pressure and rapid heartbeat. She became unconscious and was completely gone to the other side.
During her heart attack, Claire experienced a large white light in the shape of a half-circle arc below her feet. The light was brilliant white but not blinding, and very relaxing. On both sides was grass with beautiful white and yellow marigold flowers covered in dew, with soft music in the background. Everything was peaceful and she felt amazed. On the grass to her right, near her knee, lay her son who had died at age 18 from a heart attack in February 1995. He appeared content, peaceful, and happy with a smiling face, wearing his favorite dark-blue Kappa sweatshirt that he loved. Her son appeared to be sleeping peacefully on the dew-covered grass. He didn't speak but his presence seemed to communicate that he was happy. The entire scene conveyed a message that he was at peace. Everything then faded slowly and gently, and Claire returned to consciousness to find the medical team working on her, conducting electrocardiograms and monitoring her condition. She had been unconscious for one to three hours. Claire initially didn't remember the experience and was afraid to tell anyone, thinking doctors would consider her crazy. Eventually she told her specialist who confirmed it was a near-death experience. The experience convinced her that her son is at peace in a bright, happy place where people live forever, and that she will meet him again.
