At age two, Ingrid Honkala drowned in a water tank in her family's back garden in Bogotá, Colombia. While parents were at work, she and her four-year-old sister played catch over the tank. Standing on thin edge trying to retrieve ball that fell in water, Ingrid lost balance and fell in. The icy dark water caused her chest to implode, leaving her unable to breathe. Her heart pounded loudly in her head as she experienced absolute terror before transitioning to complete peace and serenity. She had been underwater at least 20-30 minutes before her mother found and pulled her out, performing CPR to revive her.
In the water, Ingrid saw brilliant light emanating from below with bubbles surrounded by light. She observed her own floating body but felt no desire to return to her sickly physical form. Flowers bloomed around her, gently carrying her to safety. She was suddenly in the maid Maria's room, floating at ceiling level, observing Maria half-asleep on her bed with a soap opera playing on radio, completely unaware of the drowning. Next, she appeared above her mother walking to the bus stop. At that exact moment, her mother stopped, sensing something wrong with her children, and immediately turned running back home. Her mother went directly to the patio and water tank, pulling Ingrid out. Years later when Ingrid shared these memories, her mother was astonished asking "How is this possible that you could know I was there? How could you have seen me? You were in the tank." Ingrid researched and verified the exact soap opera program the maid had been listening to during the drowning, confirming date and show details. Her mother confirmed she had experienced a sudden knowing that led her directly to the water tank without checking anywhere else in the house. Spiritual beings later explained the experience's purpose: showing how lack of connection (with abusive maid) leads to indifference while love (with mother) transcends all barriers, allowing her mother to sense danger from far away. The message: where there's no connection, there's division and separation; where there's love, it transcends everything.
