Vivian was hospitalized with suspected multiple sclerosis (later diagnosed as Sydenham's chorea from untreated strep/rheumatic fever). While attempting to get out of bed, she fainted and found herself in a long dark tunnel moving rapidly toward a large bright light that radiated love. She recognized the light as Christ. She heard beautiful high-pitched wind chimes and legions of angels singing the Doxology. During the tunnel journey, she experienced a life review showing moments where she had expressed unconditional love - small, seemingly inconsequential acts that were forgotten. She was suddenly pulled backwards and awakened to a nurse calling her name on the floor. The experience completely transformed her from not believing Christ existed to having direct knowledge and becoming actively religious. She developed empathic gifts afterward and now shares her story with dying patients.
