Dr. Richard Eby, a practicing physician, fell off a balcony in 1972 when the railing came loose. He landed on concrete and busted his head open, then was instantly in Paradise without needing to travel through space. He described Paradise in detail, including spiritual grass, flowers, and wonderful music. Jesus told him that Paradise was now a holding place for dead Christians until the Rapture.
Five years later, while practicing medicine in Pomona Valley, California, churches told him not to attend because his testimony might disturb their doctrines. During a tour in Israel inside Lazarus's tomb, the light bulb went out and Jesus took him out of his body to show him hell for two minutes. He saw many tiny demons that taunted him for being foolish enough to end up in hell. The smell was beyond horrible. Jesus told him that after His return to earth, hell will be thrown into the Lake of Fire and will no longer exist, referencing Revelation 20:14 which states "Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death." This experience gave him direct revelation about the temporary nature of hell before final judgment. Dr. Eby eventually shared his testimony many times on television and wrote a book called "Caught Up to Paradise." His medical background and professional standing as a physician added credibility to his testimony, though some churches rejected it.
