Dale Black was a young college student training to become a pilot when he became the only survivor of a small plane crash in July 1969. He was in a coma for three days with massive injuries. During his coma, he had a profound near-death experience where he traveled through space to heaven, accompanied by two angels wearing seamless white garments woven with silver threads.
He traveled at enormous speed through a path of light surrounded by total darkness. Millions of tiny spheres of light zoomed past as he traveled through what looked like deep space, like a jet flying through a snowstorm at night with light reflecting off the flakes. The angels had light golden brown skin tone, fairly short hair, and showed emotions of delight in ushering him through this wonderland. Dale approached a magnificent golden city gleaming among myriad resplendent colors. The light was the purest he had ever seen, connected to love itself. Light didn't shine on things but through them. He saw millions upon millions of angels and people in a huge gathering. He was greeted by people wearing white robes who were his spiritual family spanning generations - brothers and sisters from many tribes and nations whom he had not known on earth. Before going to heaven, he witnessed one of the other pilots who died being taken against his will to hell, "kicking and screaming, trying to get free." He spent weeks in a wheelchair after recovery but eventually became an airline pilot and businessman with a Ph.D. in business and M.A. in theology.
