At age three, Jack fell over a protective railing around stairs in the attic, landing 10 feet below. He remembers being in the attic with his mother, walking around holding his pillow. Next, he found himself up in a large tree in their front yard watching his mother run out carrying something in her arms, which he realized was his own body. He wasn't concerned, just watched. He was then slammed down with water running over his face - he was on the countertop with his head in the sink being revived. Years later, he insisted a tree be planted in the exact spot where he had observed from during his OBE. Remarkably, there was no tree in that location at the time of his fall, yet he had been absolutely certain about being in a tree there. As years passed and the tree grew, he would often look at it thinking the tree "used to be bigger" - a reference to his out-of-body perspective.
