Three-year-old Colton Burpo nearly died from a ruptured appendix that leaked poison into his body for five days before proper diagnosis. He appeared near death with unhealthy pallor and dark purple shadows around his eyes. Several days after surgery, he surprised his parents with knowledge he couldn't have had - telling them "I almost died," words he heard surgeons say while out of his body. Four months later during a road trip, Colton revealed he had gone up out of his body, spoken with angels, and sat on Jesus' lap. He accurately described where his parents were during surgery: his father alone in a small room praying, his mother in a different room praying and talking on the phone - details confirmed by his parents. Most remarkably, Colton revealed meeting a sister who died in his mother's womb, whom his parents had never told him about. When asked who told him about the baby, he said "She did," describing meeting his sister in heaven. He also met his grandfather who appeared young, contradicting photos Colton had seen of him as elderly. These revelations of unknown family information provided compelling evidence of a genuine heavenly experience.
