A patient admitted to a New Jersey hospital neurological unit in a coma experienced cardiac arrest and was resuscitated. Upon emerging from coma, she told nurse Norma Bowe about her NDE and OBE. The patient had OCD with number fixation. During her OBE, she memorized the serial number on top of a 7-foot respirator beside her bed. Nurse Bowe noted the number provided. Days later when a technician came to remove the respirator, Bowe asked him to check for a serial number on top. The technician confirmed a serial number was present and it matched exactly what the patient provided. The patient's OCD trait provides explanation for noticing such detail during OBE. Nurse Bowe later became a PhD professor at Kean University, adding credibility.
