On October 28, 2003, Tiya was experiencing complications from multiple surgeries and infections. Her husband was deployed in Iraq but coming home on emergency leave. After feeling dizzy and light-headed, she started a hot bath. Upon taking her hand from her face, she saw many people filling her house. She pushed through them to call for help, repeatedly saying she couldn't go yet as she hadn't seen her mother.
When her mother and stepfather arrived and took her to the ER, she saw two unknown ladies in the car who provided comfort. In the emergency room, she answered questions but couldn't be heard despite screaming responses. When the nurse announced cardiac arrest, Tiya saw her lifeless body on the bed and her mother crying. Behind her became bright with a hand touching her shoulder. She pleaded with God to let her return for her children and husband coming from Iraq. The room became brilliantly bright with even brighter light behind her. She begged the Lord "not now" and found herself back in her body, seeing the defibrillator above. She made a strange comment about a plumber, startling the medical team. The doctor was too shaken to return, and discharge papers listed "severe unexplained weakness." A nurse said the Lord must have been with her as they thought she was gone. Tiya continues seeing beings occasionally and feels she now understands what death is like without fear. --- Biblical Summary --- Biblical elements: Direct prayer to God/Lord during crisis, divine light, hand touching shoulder suggesting divine presence, successful plea for return based on family responsibilities. The nurse's comment about the Lord being with her provides external spiritual confirmation. Her loss of fear about death aligns with biblical promises. Unbiblical elements: The numerous unidentified spirits/beings filling her house before the medical crisis, and continued ability to see beings afterward, raise concerns about potential demonic deception or occult involvement. While the Bible acknowledges spiritual beings, this ongoing supernatural sight outside of divine calling is problematic.
