Frank arrived at Ohio State University Hospital in late 2003 or early 2004 with vital signs so severely compromised he was effectively dead on arrival. Dr. Chris Yerington and the medical team placed Frank into hypothermic cardiac arrest for an extended period. Frank was transferred to ICU where he was expected to die. Dr. Yerington returned days later to find Frank had staged a complete recovery. Frank reported being stuck on the ceiling of the operating room during the procedure. He claimed to have read and memorized serial numbers on three lights in the operating room. He also recalled specific conversations during the procedure. Dr. Yerington confirmed the conversations occurred when Frank's EEG was isoelectric showing no brain activity. When Dr. Yerington checked the serial numbers on the OR lights, they matched exactly what Frank reported. This represents one of the most compelling verified OBEs with specific numerical data that could not have been obtained naturally.
