Terry had a difficult birth of her first daughter on September 23, 1970. At 19 years old with a small frame, she delivered an 8+ pound baby via cesarean after many hours of labor. She hemorrhaged on the operating table and doctors almost lost her, but her NDE occurred 10 days later at home.
She had an anaphylactic reaction, likely delayed from birth medications. Her sister and mother drove her to the hospital where she was declared clinically dead on arrival. From the corner of the emergency room, she observed her body on the table with eyes open but unseeing. She saw her mother and sister trying to look through the small window in the ER door - she later described their exact positions and words, though they didn't believe her since she was dead. She was enveloped in beautiful light of unconditional love and knew she was being held on Jesus' lap like a child. Jesus patiently answered all her questions with complete understanding. When asked about true religion, He said "Men come to me on many paths" - meaning faith matters more than religion. About our purpose, He said "To love one another" - by loving each other and ourselves, we love Him since we are each part of Him. After about seven minutes (per hospital records), He asked if she wanted to return. She said yes to raise her daughter.
