Jennifer, age 13, was the only one of five sisters who suffered from a neurological disorder involving tics and epileptic seizures occurring a dozen times daily, greatly limiting her body control. In June 1971, during a thunderstorm, she was trying to lower a ham radio tower at her father's request when lightning struck it. She felt sharp pain, couldn't let go of the metal crank, her whole body shook, and blood came from her nose and ears. She smelled burning meat as her insides felt destroyed by electricity. Her sister's boyfriend received a shock trying to pull her off.
During this time, Jennifer had an NDE where she was surrounded by a cocoon of golden light that formed into a human shape without a face. The being came closer until she was suddenly back in her body, thrown to the ground. She knew something had changed in her body and felt everything would be okay because of the golden light experience. The following week, EEGs showed something about her brain biochemistry had changed. Her seizures and tics decreased immediately after the incident. Two years later, she no longer needed any medications and has had no neurological symptoms since. Doctors were amazed at the change. The miraculous aspect is that healing effects are hardly expected from lightning strikes - the opposite is more plausible. Jennifer attributed her cure not to being electrified but to her NDE: "The golden light had somehow cured me."
