In February 1978, 22-year-old Lynn Arches was surfing at Rincón, Puerto Rico when she found herself drowning, being repeatedly bashed against a reef cliff covered with sea urchins. As she desperately tried to climb the cliff with urchin tentacles breaking off in her body, she prayed not to be taken. At that moment, she detached from her body through her head and found herself hovering over a wooden bench, simultaneously aware of her drowning body below and people gathering on the beach to rescue her.
During her life review, she encountered Jesus in pastel colors and her "growing-up father" Joe in cloudy blues and browns at a tunnel entrance. Most significantly, a shadowy figure with thick Elvis-like hair repeatedly asked Joe "Is she coming?" while Jesus responded with "Patience, we don't know yet. We're waiting to see." The figure went back and forth to inform other beings waiting at the tunnel's end. Lynn intuitively felt she knew this energetic male entity but couldn't identify him. Forty-three years later, through DNA testing, Lynn discovered Joe was not her biological father. When her half-sisters showed her a photo of their father Raymond - whom her mother had dated before marrying Joe - Lynn immediately recognized him as the shadowy figure from her NDE. Her sisters confirmed their father had "dark, slicked back hair with a wave on top" like Elvis in his younger years. Both Joe and Raymond had died in the 1970s before her NDE, and the two men had been friends who went to school and played football together. After being told by God to return and teach that "I am that I am," Lynn was thrust back into her body and rescued by a human chain of people.
