Dominique Surel's ex-partner clinically died in the mid-1970s but was successfully resuscitated. After regaining consciousness, he was able to describe in detail how doctors had tried to resuscitate him in his room. Remarkably, he also described what had been happening in the room next door and what conversations had taken place there. Both doctors and nurses verified what he had seen and heard in both rooms during his clinical death. A nurse specifically discussed the experience in Surel's presence, confirming that her ex had really observed certain situations and witnessed conversations that had taken place in the adjoining room. Surel ruled out that the patient could have observed all of this by normal sensory means, as he was clinically dead at the time. The ability to perceive events in multiple locations, including an adjacent room, during clinical death represents a significant veridical observation that was independently confirmed by multiple medical professionals.
