In 1994, 17-year-old Michaela from Homer City, Pennsylvania, was on vacation with her family when a large truck caused a serious car accident. She was airlifted to the emergency room by helicopter, having suffered the gravest injuries among her family members, including serious brain injury and arm wounds. Dr. Scott Magley provided trauma treatment during the helicopter flight, but despite his efforts, Michaela slipped into a coma upon hospital arrival. During her comatose state, Michaela experienced an NDE featuring a panoramic life review and glimpses of her future. She found herself in the corner of her hospital room observing her body from above. Her consciousness then traveled to the hospital cafeteria where she witnessed a remarkable scene: her parents sitting at a table with both her grandmothers across from them. Her father, a known smoker, said he needed a cigarette to get some breathing room. Extraordinarily, her maternal grandmother - who had never smoked and would never smoke in her life - suddenly declared, "Oh, I need one too. I'm gonna have one too." Her other grandmother similarly agreed, "Yeah, me too." Two weeks later, when Michaela awoke from her coma, she astonished her mother by reporting that both grandmothers had suddenly started smoking in the hospital cafeteria. Her mother explicitly confirmed this highly unusual event in the same video recording, validating that both grandmothers had indeed uncharacteristically decided to smoke during this stressful time - behavior completely out of character that Michaela could not have predicted or guessed.
