A female patient underwent resuscitation and experienced an out-of-body state during which she observed the medical team's efforts from above. When being given a bath later, she recognized her nurse and told her "You were here yesterday." The patient reported seeing from above how the team tried to resuscitate her and specifically recalled a conversation between the nurse and a doctor about the dress code. The doctor had told the nurse she was not allowed to wear dresses to work anymore in response to her wearing a skirt that day. This specific and unusual detail about workplace dress code policy, overheard during a medical emergency, provides strong veridical evidence of consciousness during the resuscitation period when normal sensory perception would have been impossible.
