After struggling with lymphoma for four years, Anita Moorjani fell into a coma and was rushed to the hospital. Full-body scans revealed lemon-sized tumors throughout her body. Her vital organs had shut down, brain and lungs were filled with fluid, and liquid oozed from skin lesions. Doctors told her husband she would not survive the night. Despite having no use of her physical senses, Anita was acutely aware of everything happening around her. Her spirit left her body and she witnessed conversations between her husband and doctors taking place 40 feet away down a hallway, which she later verified to her shocked husband. She crossed over to another dimension where she was engulfed in total love and experienced extreme clarity about why she had cancer, her life purpose, and how life works. Drifting between two worlds, she was shown a tapestry of how her life touched everyone around her. She saw her brother on a plane coming to see her, later verified when she awoke to find him there having just arrived. She glimpsed what seemed to be a previous life with her brother in an underdeveloped rural setting where she was older and protective of him. She also perceived how her husband's purpose was linked to hers. The experience gave her profound understanding that she chose not to die, deciding she couldn't let her brother see her dead.
