Mary, a woman in her 40s, experienced a profound NDE during a severe car accident when another driver ran through a stop sign and struck her vehicle on the driver's side. Her last memory before the experience was seeing a nearby Coco's restaurant sign. She had no memory of the impact itself.
Mary found herself propelled down a large, dark tunnel toward a white light that made her feel everything would be okay. Upon entering the light, she noticed other lights around her that she recognized as people who loved her. She identified one as Frank Myers, a deceased friend who had died of leukemia nine months earlier. Frank told her it was not her time and she needed to return. After rushing back through the tunnel and experiencing severe head pain, she left her body again and returned directly to the light. There she encountered celestial music more beautiful than anything on Earth and felt overwhelming love from the spiritual presences. During her hospital stay, Mary had an out-of-body experience where she floated around the emergency room ceiling and witnessed medical staff treating another patient - a dark-skinned woman with short curly hair who had blood coming from her nose. She observed the woman's spirit leave as doctors pronounced her dead. Mary also struggled to identify her own body and nearly entered the wrong one before Frank directed her to the correct body on the sidewalk. Following her NDE, Mary maintained regular contact with Frank, who appeared to her as a spirit teacher with shamanic characteristics. These encounters profoundly transformed her from a materialistic workaholic into someone focused on spiritual matters and helping others, particularly those facing death.
