Rhonda experienced a severe dirt bike accident in May 1978 when she lost control going down a steep embankment. The bike flipped multiple times, landing on her and causing a punctured lung. Her husband heard all the air rush from her body and believed she had died.
During her unconscious state, Rhonda initially saw only darkness, then encountered what she believed was Jesus dressed in traditional biblical clothing with a sash and draped cloth. She felt his initial look was one of dissatisfaction. She was drawn backward toward an increasingly bright light through what seemed like a tunnel. Despite the intensity, the light did not hurt her eyes. She asked to stay for her children. Upon reaching the light, she found herself on a hill overlooking a wheat field. People in robes of varying colors were approaching up the hill toward where she and Jesus were. She sensed profound peace in these beings, describing it as total contentment. Jesus sat under a large tree with outstretched branches, and the robed figures knelt before him. Communication occurred without spoken words - Jesus spoke to them telepathically and all understood. She again pleaded to return to care for her three children. She then awakened in her husband's arms as he rocked her, saying she was dead. She drew breath and told him she was alive.
