Srinivasa Reddy, approximately 35 years old, had been suffering from fever for about a week and was taking medication. His wife Muniyamma was away at her parents' home for childbirth. When informed of his illness, she returned in the evening to find him unconscious and talking irrelevantly before completely stopping. His breathing ceased, leading everyone to believe he was dead. They sent for relatives and laid his body outside in the open as customary. Around 8:00-9:00 PM, he suddenly shook his head and legs and began breathing again.
During his apparent death, two people came and asked him to accompany them. They walked on a mud road for a long time until reaching a large city-like place with big houses and many people. Inside a big house, he saw a man with a large book to the left of Yamraj. The man questioned his presence, to which Srinivasa replied that these people had brought him. The man declared: "You are not required here; I had asked for Ashwath Reddy. You go back," and instructed the escorts to bring Ashwath Reddy instead. Before leaving, Srinivasa asked if they could provide medicine for his fever. They took him to an old lady who gave him herbal juice which he drank. The same escorts brought him back and left him outside his village. Remarkably, after returning, his fever quickly came under control and he never suffered from fever again. Muniyamma confirmed that Ashwath Reddy, an 80-year-old villager who had been ill, died that same day.
