During a cardiac arrest fifteen years ago, this man experienced a profound near-death experience that began with an overwhelming attraction to a brilliant light. He described being drawn forward not by walking but by pure will, feeling himself moving toward an intensely bright white light that had never been seen before in earthly existence. The light was described as spotless white with multitude of rays emanating from it, yet remarkably it was not dazzling or painful to perceive. Within this luminous environment, beings appeared and disappeared, passing through the light like ethereal presences. The experience was accompanied by an intense feeling of peace and tranquility that transcended normal human emotion. The individual felt completely free from physical pain and earthly concerns while immersed in this radiant atmosphere. Upon return to normal consciousness, he found the transition difficult and the contrast between the blissful NDE state and physical reality was stark and challenging.
