A pop star performing on an outdoor stage on Christmas Day 1970 was accidentally electrocuted and experienced a profound near-death event. Upon electrocution, he felt himself become light as a feather and shoot upward at an indescribable speed that could never be measured by conventional concepts of speed or time. The sensation transcended normal physical experience. During this rapid upward movement, he was surrounded on all sides by lights of all colors - shining spots that appeared stationary while he moved through them. The lights were below, above, and completely surrounding him in a spectacular display. This experience of shooting through a field of multicolored lights while feeling weightless represents a classic transcendent experience during clinical death from electrocution. Following this near-death experience, the person underwent significant life changes and took up serious study of yoga, indicating the transformative impact of the event. The experience combines elements of out-of-body travel, encounters with supernatural light, and the timeless quality often reported in NDEs.
