Fell asleep while driving at 1 a.m., rolled 165 feet and flipped VW 4 times. Brief out-of-body experience hovering over car, observing vehicle and surroundings along highway. Despite being 1 a.m., perceived bright daylight illumination. Then suddenly back in driver's seat upside down trying to escape. Kept experience private for many years. Interpretation: soul briefly leaves body during traumatic physical accidents to avoid experiencing the immediate trauma, like a protective mechanism. Physical awareness may return hours, days, or years later, but the soul/consciousness temporarily separates during impact. Views this as a common experience in severe car accidents.
