Fehmida Hassan, an elderly woman from Karachi, experienced clinical death following what appeared to be a stroke affecting her right side. She was pronounced dead at the hospital but successfully resuscitated through CPR. During her unconscious state, she attempted to write with her non-functional right hand, then wrote "Ask people to forgive me" with her left hand, with no later recollection of this action. During her NDE, she experienced herself flying without wings, feeling wonderful but puzzled at the mechanics. A voice directed her to approach a bright light ahead. She flew toward it but was stopped midway and turned around. During her out-of-body experience, she engaged in conversation with her next-door neighbor about making funeral arrangements for a young boy in the adjacent ICU bed. This proved veridical as a young boy did die of cardiac arrest in that exact location while she was unconscious. Upon awakening, she was reciting the Islamic kalima prayer, feeling happy and smiling with no pain except vocal cord discomfort from intubation.
