On August 1, 1986, the experiencer was alone at the edge of his peanut field holding a 30-foot irrigation pipe in the air too close to overhead electrical distribution lines. Though the pipe never touched the wires, 7,200 volts jumped through his well-grounded body (wet socks and tennis shoes on damp earth), entering through his hands and exiting through the sides of his feet. His heart stopped for an unknown duration. He remembers feeling the electricity with his hands before losing consciousness.
Upon losing consciousness, his verbal consciousness became very excited and unaccepting, rapidly pleading that this was just an accident, he didn't belong here, and his daughter and wife needed him. His visual consciousness became aware of darkness. In the darkness, he saw two distant spheres lit in tight fingernail crescents by a very bright light source off to the right edge of his view. He felt he was moving toward the light to become one of those spheres, with the other sphere serving as his guide in this new dimension. The experiencer observed two spheres in darkness, lit by crescents from a bright light source to the right. He sensed he was drifting toward the spheres to become one of them, with the other as his guide. Small blue patches began forming and expanding, gradually covering the darkness and spheres until he was looking at blue sky. He was not moving fast, just drifting toward the spheres. Then small blue patches began forming and expanding, covering the darkness and spheres. He came to on his back looking up at the blue sky. The experience left him with a clear memory of the otherworldly spheres and light configuration.
