On September 19, 2010, at 12:40 AM, the experiencer with a history of supraventricular tachycardia (SVT) had her most severe episode after approximately 100 previous hospital visits. Unlike prior episodes where she remained conscious and talkative, this attack began suddenly with suffocation and immediate fear. She warned nurses this would "go real bad real fast." Her blood pressure dropped to 56/27, she began vomiting, lost bowel control, and heard staff calling a "pre-code." She told her husband "I think I am going to die" before losing consciousness as doctors worked to save her.
The experiencer found herself with her deceased father (died 2008) standing by an orange cap in the trauma room. They existed as essence/spirit/energy without physical form, experiencing "knowing" rather than seeing. They could feel the tension, pressure, and various emotions of the medical staff, which was unpleasant, so they left to a dark space like her unlit basement. She could smell her father's cigarette and body odor. Communication occurred without words, feeling wonderful, peaceful, loving, and perfect. Her father indicated she had to return, which she resisted, wanting desperately to stay. He "bumped" her hard and she traveled rapidly through a bright white tunnel. The experiencer observed the trauma room from a non-physical perspective with her deceased father, standing by an orange cap (later identified as a disposable container lid on the wall). The perspective showed the cap appearing much higher than its actual position. She "knew" rather than saw multiple people in the room and felt their emotions. Upon awakening, she saw her father's face superimposed on her husband's face, like a camera shifting focus between them. Upon returning, she awoke seeing her father's face overlapping her husband's before it faded. Her husband, who witnessed everything, confirmed she went unconscious, stopped breathing, was defibrillated, and slowly stabilized after about a minute. Physical aftereffects included chest soreness from sternum rub, burn marks from defibrillation, and spinal pain. She experienced lasting changes including meat aversion, heightened senses, feeling others' energies, depression about returning, and complete transformation of life priorities.
