A 16-year-old honor student with a full academic scholarship was driving with two soccer teammates to go hiking at Hatcher's Pass in Alaska during summer solstice. On the return trip down the mountain, they stopped briefly at outhouses before continuing. The driver has no memory of what happened next due to frontal and posterior brain damage. According to passengers, the driver possibly fell asleep, drifted to the road edge, overcorrected, causing the car to flip end over end, with the driver's head going through the windshield into a tree. First responders initially covered the victim, unable to get vitals, before a medical professional eventually revived them.
The experiencer was enveloped in darkness, which they attribute to being blinded in the accident (doctors said they would be permanently blind). They felt themselves transcending time and space, spiraling through the galaxy as an unbound entity, like a raindrop heading toward a puddle that represented a collective of all souls. They experienced pure, unconditional love amplified beyond earthly comprehension - comparing earthly love to a grain of sand versus all beaches in the world. They felt the presence of angels and joyous souls who delivered a hundred lifetimes of knowledge about divinity, and knew they were in the presence of God, never wanting to leave. Due to being blinded during the accident, the experiencer had no visual observations of the physical world. Instead, they experienced non-visual awareness of transcendent realms, feeling themselves as an entity moving through space toward a collective consciousness. They received knowledge about divinity through non-visual communication with angelic presences and souls. The darkness they experienced was not malevolent but rather a result of their physical blindness. The experiencer sustained level 3-4 Le Fort fractures, shattering every facial bone except the chin, requiring over 100 titanium plates, screws, and mesh for reconstruction. They survived injuries that typically prove fatal. The experience occurred 17 years ago and fundamentally changed their life perspective.
