The experiencer suffered approximately four heart attacks while on distant shores and experienced a particularly severe episode lasting 48 hours in Nanning, China in 2006. During this extended cardiac crisis, marked by excruciating pain that made them want to die for relief, they experienced a profound shift in consciousness. The pain was initially misdiagnosed as acid reflux for three years before this critical event. During the ordeal, they became so consumed with observing their body's reactions that they forgot to fear death, entering a state of fearlessness that lasted seven days from attack through surgery and recovery.
The core experience occurred during surgery at the hands of Chinese doctors. The experiencer found themselves hovering approximately 10 feet above the operating scene, observing their body below along with the medical staff. From this vantage point, they experienced themselves as a pure viewpoint or consciousness, completely separate from their physical form. This out-of-body perspective provided them with absolute certainty that they would never truly die and that they were part of what they describe as "the Great I Am." They observed the surgical scene with complete detachment yet full awareness. The experiencer noted specific details of being outside their body as a mere observing viewpoint during the surgery. They could see their physical body on the operating table and all the doctors and nurses working on them from a position 10 feet above. This observation occurred while Chinese doctors were performing surgery related to their heart condition. Upon returning to their body, they experienced intense physical sensations including rigid body, immobile arms, frozen feet, deep chest pain near the heart that was almost unbearable, and extreme difficulty breathing. The experiencer reports being fundamentally transformed, now understanding that God exists within all creation rather than as an external judge, manifesting through acts of kindness and the instinctive drive for survival in all life forms.
