The experiencer had a 100% blockage of a main artery resulting in cardiac arrest while in the emergency room, occurring while actually talking to the doctor and describing symptoms. While unconscious and dead, he experienced being in a car hurtling down a road out of control, unable to stop or move, with arms pinned at sides. Everything around was white - no trees, houses, or people, just white nothingness. There were no boundaries on either side of the vast road. He wasn't passing anything and there was nothing to pass. The only sensation was hurtling forward out of control through white space. He suddenly awoke looking up at his wife, thinking he had passed out and had a weird dream. She informed him his heart had stopped in the ER and the doctor had brought him back. The experience opened his eyes to a world of possibilities. When he later returned to thank the emergency room staff, he felt like a ghost returning to the scene of his death. The hospital wrote about the event in their newsletter, making him feel like he was reading his own obituary. He now knows there is much about this world he doesn't understand, with answers beyond his ability to fathom the questions.
