In March 1960, a 9-year-old girl was struck by a 1955 Buick while crossing the street near her home after art class. The driver, traveling at high speed down a long hill without glasses while eating, struck her on the left side. She was caught on the hood ornament by her ear, hit again, and flew 91.5 feet before landing on a storm drain. She suffered multiple broken bones and a 3-week concussion, requiring many surgeries, extensive physical therapy, and home schooling. During recovery, she developed unusual food cravings, began writing prose, and discovered she could pass exams without studying, leading to placement in accelerated programs.
Within 5 years, she realized her reality was abnormal. She had become intuitive and precognitive, "knowing" things with highly developed cross-sensory perception, experiencing synesthesia. Parents of schoolmates forbade contact due to her psychic abilities. These abilities continued throughout life, often "ambushing" her. She traveled extensively without destinations, studied cultural anthropology, and learned her paternal grandmother and aunt were known for "work with spirits." Years later at The Four Winds Society, she learned to control her abilities through shamanic training. Through journeying, she discovered she had spent her concussion weeks in a dark, empty limbo place. She now practices controlled NDEs, soul retrieval, psychopomp work, remote viewing, and healing.
