At age four, the experiencer became severely ill with an unknown condition that nearly killed her. The doctors could not identify what was wrong, and her mother later confirmed she almost died but then quickly recovered. While ill in bed, she was watching the ceiling and thinking she could walk on it when she was suddenly transported to another realm where she stood with several beings she perceived as angels.
These angelic beings looked at her with unprecedented love and kindness, making her feel totally safe and cared for in a way she had never experienced before. They explained that important aspects of her life had changed, things she had not "signed up for," and gave her a choice: stay with them and leave this life, or return despite knowing it would be very challenging. Remarkably, though only four years old, her thinking abilities during the experience were not those of a child, and she understood exactly what they were telling her. She thought of her beloved sister and decided that regardless of how difficult life would be, she wanted to return to stay with her. As suddenly as she had left, she was back in her bed, wondering why her room felt so dark compared to where she had been. She quickly recovered from her illness and returned to normal childhood activities. The experience left lasting effects: she became highly psychic with precognitive abilities, hypersensitive to others' feelings and world events, deeply concerned about equality for all beings, and completely without fear of death. At 23, when facing what appeared to be certain death in a car accident, she felt only complete calm and warmth. She retained perfect memory of the experience 55 years later, including her adult-level thought processes during the encounter despite being only four years old.
